Shipping & Returns

General Shipping Information

We ship primarily USPS and UPS. If you prefer FedEx please CONTACT US. Our Shipping Department is closed on the weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and on all Federal Holidays, so any orders placed during the weekend or on a Federal Holiday will ship within the next 2 - 3 full business days. Limited circumstances may also delay dispatch time (i.e. combined orders, order verification, high volume, etc.).

Note: Some items cannot be shipped via USPS (i.e. Zippo fuel, Pepper Sprays, certain knives, etc.) and we reserve the right to modify your shipping selection if necessary.

We do have multiple warehouses, so your order may arrive in multiple shipments. You will receive a tracking number for each individual package. You can also check your order status on the MY ACCOUNT page.

If you have specific shipping needs we suggest you CONTACT US prior to placing your order. We can generally accommodate most needs (i.e. overnight shipping).

Most orders are shipped WITH a signature required. This is a change we have had to make due to rampant shipping and credit card fraud. If this creates an extreme hardship, contact us.

Address Verification

In some cases orders that are shipped to an address that is not authorized by the credit card issuer are subject to delays, verification emails/phone calls and/or cancellation. Additionally, in most cases orders that are shipped to an address other than the authorized billing address are subject to delay and verification. In situations where we cannot authenticate the validity of an order that order will be cancelled. For the best service and security, encourage you to ship only to the billing address of the credit card used for payment.

Some items we sell are restricted in certain areas. Please make sure you understand our TERMS & CONDITIONS (you will be required to agree to them before you can place an order), as well as any laws in your area regarding ownership and/or carrying of your purchase

Tracking Orders

Please note that items shipped USPS do not have guaranteed delivery times. They will come with Delivery Confirmation. In some cases this can be used to track a package, but generally during the holidays the package will only be scanned upon reaching its destination. If you would like comprehensive tracking with your order we strongly suggest using the UPS option at checkout.

SHIPPING IN THE USA

Standard shipping within the USA

If your order is more than $99 then shipping is free if you choose the "Free Economy Shipping" option (some oversized and overweight items will incur a shipping cost.).

USPS First Class Mail shipping within the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska and US territories) is $5.00, and is available for orders under 16 oz.

USPS Priority Mail Shipping within the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska and US territories) is $10.00. Some oversized and overweight items have additional shipping costs.

UPS Ground pricing will be calculated by weight starting at $15.00.

Delivery time (once an item is dispatched) varies. Typical USPS delivery time is between 4-8 days for First Class, and 2-5 days for Priority Mail. Typical UPS Ground delivery time is 4-7 days. Delivery (UPS & USPS) outside the continental USA generally takes longer (i.e. to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, etc.).

Prior to your order leaving our facility, we will email you the USPS delivery confirmation number or UPS tracking number. Dispatch time for orders is typically 2-3 full business days from purchase. All orders are insured against loss and damage through our company.

Expedited shipping within the USA

If you're in a hurry you can purchase Expedited shipping. Expedited orders are given full precedence and in most cases you will receive your order within 3 business days or less (items must be ordered by 12:00 PM MST to ship the same day they are ordered; call us if you need your order shipped same day and it's past the cut-off time). Limited circumstances may also delay dispatch time of expedited orders (i.e. combined orders, order verification, weekends, holidays etc.).

Please Note: Some over-sized items cannot be ship via expedited services. If your order is too large to ship via out expedited services we will refund the shipping difference and send your order via standard shipping unless we have explicit instructions otherwise.

We offer UPS 2 Business Day shipping for $10.00. Since orders leave our facility the following business day, if you select this shipping option when placing an order after noon on Wednesday, your order will arrive no sooner than Monday the next week. Saturdays and Sundays are not included as shipping days. This option is not available outside the continental USA.

We also offer USPS Express shipping for $25.99 (plus an additional $4.00 per item after 2 items). Delivery is 3 business days or less. This option is available outside the continental USA, but times may be longer than stated.

Once an order has a postage label, a delivery confirmation number (USPS) or tracking number (UPS) will be sent via email. The order will ship shortly after.

Shipping to APO and FPO Addresses

All shipping to APO and FPO addresses will be done via USPS (no faster than USPS Priority). When entering an order with an APO or FPO address please remember to use "United States" as your shipping country. Your package will be routed to the correct destination no matter where you actually are.

We support our troops! If you order is going to an APO or FPO address (or any military base) write "ARMED FORCES" in the notes at checkout and we'll refund your shipping.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

The following information is a guideline for international shipping. Please note that until further notice, most international customers will still need to CONTACT US directly to inquire about placing an order (exceptions below). International customers are responsible for ALL shipping costs including return shipping, duties, taxes, and any other applicable fees for delivery to the country.

PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO SHIPPING FOR A RETURN AUTHORIZATION (No products will be accepted after the specified days unless there is written approval from the CastleGate Team. Returns without an authorization will be rejected and returned at the owner’s expense.)

If you are unsatisfied with your factory-made purchase, you will have 5 calendar days, from the date you have received the item, to notify CastleGate Knife & Tool via email of your request to return (emails to: [email protected], must include order number, item details, date of purchase).

If the return is approved, please send the item back to CastleGate Knife & Tool in its original, new and unused condition within 7 calendar days and include the original manufacturer's packaging.

If approved, CastleGate Knife & Tool may provide you a full refund for the purchase price (less any shipping fees, restocking fee, and/or promotional discounts) as either a refund onto your credit card (if that is how you paid) or cash or store-credit.

Any items returned not in new or unused condition will be shipped back to the purchaser at their expense.

The item must be returned in the same condition as received (i.e. cannot be sharpened or disassembled) and must be shipped fully insured via any common carrier. Most custom knives are guaranteed by the makers we represent, and most factory knives carry the manufacturer’s warranty. We do not guarantee the durability of natural handle materials (such as bone, ivory, wood, pearl, etc.) or the reaction of any material to water and air (rust, oxidation, etc.)

Restocking Fee. All returns are subject to a 25% restocking and credit card processing fee. Refunds will be issued in the same method as the order payment.

We will not accept returns with shipping labels attached directly to product packaging.

If an item needs to be returned due to our error, we will offer a full refund including shipping at our discretion. Any condition visible in our product photos is considered to be disclosed and does not create an error or omission on our part.  Contact us before sending any item back as a return.
